I wanted to join the HVAC team

When I turned 18, I joined the Navy, but I had learned all the brochures, but they were the 1s who gave classes for heating, ventilation, and A/C. I wanted to be an actual heating, ventilation, and A/C specialist, and I also wanted to be on a submarine; after going through basics, I was talking to my CO about what I wanted to do. I told them I wanted to be on a submarine and I also wanted to be an actual heating, ventilation, and A/C specialist! My CO told me he didn’t suppose I was thinking this over long enough… He didn’t suppose I should be an actual heating, ventilation, and A/C specialist. I asked if he considered it wrong of me being an actual heating, ventilation, and A/C specialist, or being an actual heating, ventilation, and A/C specialist on a submarine… When he said I was being insubordinate, I saluted and said yup sir and asked if I could be dismissed. I swore I saw a smile on his face when I turned around, but I could not be sure… Three weeks later, the CO called me into his office and gave me my paperwork. It was where I would be stationed and what my training and/or job would be. The first thing I had to get through was heating, ventilation, and A/C school; then once I got my certification, I would be now working in the boatyard, and training on submarines before I was stationed on 1. I then hugged him before I had minute thoughts on what I was doing. He hugged me back and told me not to let him down. I could not believe he took me drastic and signed me up for the heating, ventilation, and A/C classes, although he sounded love he was totally against it.
