The basement has no temperature control

Converting the basement into a rec room was a wild idea I had been kicking around for years.

  • When COVID hit I was homebound for weeks on end, as well as decided to put our silly idea into practice.

I say it was silly because I know almost nothing about lake house renovation. I was a novice, as well as our only experience came from seeing Youtube videos of people doing their own lake house renovations… Since I had the time I wanted to give it a try. My first issue was with the a/c. I had never spent more than a few hours at a time in the basement, so the lack of A/C vents never occurred to me… Now that I wanted to be down here for long periods of time I would need a climate control method for it. There is a large, outdated furnace in the corner of the basement, so there will never be a problem when it comes to heating. The A/C unit is situated upstairs, as well as there is no ductwork linking it to the basement. Thanks to the furnace this section is often genuinely muggy as well as warm, so if I want to spend any amount of time having fun down here I will need an efficient cooling unit. I shopped around as well as found a few small, ductless mini-break A/C units, however the basement is genuinely giant so I may need to buy numerous of them. It won’t be cheap, however if I want this rec room to be any good, I will need a/c.
