I’m always extremely cautious around my wife’s parents! My friend and I have only been married for a few years, and it appears that the jury is still out on me when it comes to the in-laws, and I don’t think I’ve ever felt completely at ease around that family in general. They have a very different point of view than I do. I was fortunate to grow up in a house with residential Heating and Air Conditioning. My parents didn’t have much money, but they did provide a loving and supportive environment. My wife’s parents are unquestionably odd in this regard. Much of their life and perspective revolves around money and status. I am not that person, so when I am around my in-laws, I try to be extremely cautious about what I say and do. This year, my associate and I had to spend Christmas at their arena. When it comes to our parents, it appears that we will be trading off holidays year after year, but this year, it was up there and it was far from comfortable, but not only was I distraught and uncomfortable just being there, but the Heating and Air Conditioning component seemed to never stop running. My wife and I live in the south, but her parents live in the north, and boy do they suffer from extreme heat. The temperature control setting was so high that I was sweating as soon as I walked in. And when you’re already feeling uneasy, that’s never a good look. All I wanted to do was turn down the temperature, but I couldn’t. So I just hung in there for a week, hoping to get home to our house and our own residential heating and air conditioning.
