After our separation, my friend and I hired a divorce lawyer

This sounded good, but I didn’t like the child support she wanted to file for

My hubby and I were separated for almost five years before my friend and I hired a divorce lawyer. My friend and I split amicably, and didn’t quibble over the property. I kept the main home and the minivan, while she kept the smaller home and the truck. My friend and I had split custody of kids, and she helped me with the insurance on the vehicles. I thought life was going well for both of us, until she found someone she wanted to be with. She was insisting she get a divorce lawyer and make everything finalized and put it in legal documents. She was also telling him they were going to get married. I didn’t object to the divorce or him marrying her. What I objected to was how she wanted to change the terms of the agreement pertaining to our split custody and how she helped pay all the insurance bills. I never knew my hubby to be as meek as she appeared when she was with her. She had to pay for the divorce lawyer if I paid for the family law lawyer, which my friend and I needed to get custody orders worked out. The family lawyer told me I should go for spousal support since she was the one who moved out, and I refused. She wanted me to get primary custody and my hubby would have liberal visits and every other weekend. This sounded good, but I didn’t like the child support she wanted to file for. I was thinking my friend and I were better off before the lawyers were involved, although she was the one who wanted to remarry. She later told me she should have just lived with her for a while.
