Today is a quiet and contemplative day as I digest all the emotions from last night.
We played in the band and had some confrontations with street sellers and police, along with a whole gamut of emotions from the crowds who were watching.
There were little dancing kids and people coming up and offering us cigars and beers, along with others dancing and singing along. Some people watching us set up the sound were not sure what kind of music we were going to do but in the end we got them on our side and had some fun together. Climate control is not needed outside just yet as the weather is still pretty moderate, but in another month we will need those portable air conditioning systems to keep us cool because it will get close to 100F next month. I think we will need to start going to the big city near us to play in some of the clubs at night because it is going to get too hot outside to play and be comfortable. Some of the local businesses want us to play in their bars and clubs and we will do that on days when there are no gigs in the big city. The weather will be hot for the next three months so we will need to find sanctuary in the cool clubs during the summer, as most of them have a good air con system to keep the patrons cool. We like playing on the streets too but when the summer heat comes it just gets too hot.
