Check the condition of the electric HVAC before moving into a new place

I’m a recently divorced mom of three, and as you can imagine, the transition has not been easy, to say the least. Moving into a new home was exciting as it marked a new beginning, but it also came with some challenges. The new place seemed okay, and I was pleased there was enough space for my kids and two furry friends. The first night was colder than I expected, but I shrugged it off, thinking we just needed to adjust to the new environment. The second night was worse, so I thought perhaps the boiler was damaged. I looked for an HVAC specialist online to find out if the heating equipment needed urgent heater maintenance or if I had to plan for heat pump installation. I compared the HVAC products for sale in nearby stores and was surprised by the prices. The HVAC serviceman scheduled an inspection the following day, and I hoped I didn’t have to buy a new HVAC. The expert explained that my home had an electric heating system, and the issue was with the electric heat pump. I was worried my power bills would be through the roof when I learned this, especially since I had to keep the heater on for extended periods because my youngest had some health issues. The heating technician installed a HEPA filter, shared some energy-saving tips, and assured me the electric HVAC wouldn’t affect my bills as much as I thought. He offered to install a wireless thermostat that would make it easier for me to maintain a comfortable temperature. I liked the idea of using my smartphone to raise or lower the temperature in his room to ensure he slept through the night without coughing and sneezing half the time.
