The customer thought she knew the answer

The customer became rude and belligerent.

I responded to a repair request for A/C help. I picked up the help ticket from the main Heating plus Air Conditioning service building and I put the address in our GPS. I read all of the information on the ticket. The customer called because the A/C component wasn’t cooling well. This type of concern occurs frequently when the weather is genuinely hot or humid. The outdoor temperatures are regularly hot and humid while I was in the Spring and summer time months. When the temperatures are particularly hot, the moisture can cause issues for the A/C unit. I knew there were a couple of things that I could do to investigate the problem.I arrived at the address a couple of minutes before the tied up appointment time. I talked to the owner of the home who was an older girl around 50 years old. Instead of letting myself and others check the situation for myself, the girl started telling myself and others all about that A/C unit. I told the gentleman that it is easier for myself and others to look at the system and form our own opinion. The customer became rude and belligerent. Thankfully, the guy’s wife was there to calm him down. She took the girl outside to talk about something, while I was trying to investigate the Heating plus Air Conditioning system for errors and flaws. I wasn’t trying to disrespect the customer, however I know how to do our task and I work better without a bunch of comments and unwanted help. The concern was a low amount of refrigerant and not at all what the owner of the home expected… She did not say a word when I presented the facts and evidence and quote for services.
