Personal trainer helps with recovery after car accident

Four years ago, I was involved in an especially nasty car crash.

Another driver plowed straight through a red light and smashed into the driver’s side of my car. My car was dented so badly that the jaws of life were required to free me from the wreckage. I endured two separate surgeries, a lengthy hospital stay and a great deal of physical rehabilitation. After I was sent home and the insurance for the rehabilitation ran out, I was still suffering a great deal of pain. I found it difficult to sleep at night. I slept mostly in a chair. It was really taxing to walk up or down stairs. I was not comfortable taking painkillers because of the potential, long-term side-effects to my health. However, being unable to get back to work or enjoy any kind of physical activity was discouraging and led to depression. A coworker of mine recommended that I check into personal training. I was doubtful that this would help but willing to try anything. After researching people in my local area, I came across a personal fitness trainer who focuses on recovery from injury. We sat down for a consultation and I liked her right away. Her experience and knowledge were reassuring. Once we began the training sessions, I discovered that she is especially skilled at motivating me. She wouldn’t let me quit on anything and yet she was really aware of my limitations. I’ve been working out with my personal trainer for almost a year. I’ve gained so much strength, balance and range of motion. I have more stamina every day. The pain is lessening. For the first time since our accident, I finally have hope of a full recovery.
