Sunburnt at the beach and feeling miserable

Last Fall, after being quarantined for multiple weeks, some friends & I took a trip to the beach.

Both of us packed my motorcar full of cold drinks & car-friendly snack foods, put on a playlist & hit the road; When both of us got to our destination, both of us didn’t even bother checking into the hotel, both of us just parked the motorcar & went right to the beach.

After a few beers, both of us realized that both of us had been in the sunshine for multiple minutes, & forgot to put on sunscreen, & much to our dismay both of us all had pink shoulders & stomachs, ripe with burns from the brutal beach sun. Once both of us finally made it to the hotel, I took a shower & then slathered my skin with aloe vera, & before I laid in bed I turned on the air conditioning, & immediately felt it’s cooling touch on my ravished skin. The air conditioning in the hotel was magical, not only soothing my seared skin, however the cool air also calmed my nerves & helped myself and others relax to a level I’ve never achieved before. The next morning at the beach was much cooler, more clouds in the sky meant the sunshine wasn’t shining as bright, & the wind was blowing cold air onto the shore, which fet nice on our sunburnt bodies, however once the sunshine started to set, both of us started to freeze in our wet bathing suits. Since both of us only prepared for Summer beach weather, both of us ran back to the hotel & cranked the heater. Both of us were still shivering from being so cold at the beach, the heating system offered much needed warmth to our bodies, giving us a cozy space to watch movies & love the rest of our holiday.
