Out here the best I can do is to hire an online personal trainer, and have meetings and sessions with them over Zoom or Facetime
Adapting to life on the edge of the wilderness was really difficult for me. I knew this promotion would be a major life change, but the amount of money they were offering me was just too much to refuse. So I took the money, and the job, and moved all the way across the country, to a tiny town at the foot of a mountain range. I am being generous in calling it a town, it’s really a gas station, a convenience store, and a collection of old houses. The posted population is 312 people, but I doubt there are half that many people still here. Of course they don’t have a gym, or any kind of business that has exercise equipment or workout classes. With my new raise, I could now afford to start putting together a home gym, but it still wasn’t the same. I liked the sense of community I got from taking workout classes like Crossfit, hot yoga, and heavy cardio. Out here the best I can do is to hire an online personal trainer, and have meetings and sessions with them over Zoom or Facetime. I really don’t like this idea, because I want the one on one interaction that you get from a real personal trainer, someone that works and sweats right alongside you. I am not knocking online personal trainers, god bless them, but it is just not for me. I could ask around town to see if anyone wants to be a workout buddy, maybe for weight lifting together, but that seems kind of sad doesn’t it?
