Relaxing in the pool because I have no A/C

Recently, my air conditioner went down and I didn’t have the money to fix it immediately.

I had so many other bills to pay, and I wasn’t in the best position financially.

To make matters worse, it was the middle of the summer. It was June and the temperature was reaching into the 90s on a regular basis in the afternoons. It’s not like I’m a handyman so I wasn’t able to fix the problem myself. I spent many a night relying on nothing more than my ceiling fan and my box fans to keep me cool. It was better than if I didn’t have them, but I was really missing my air conditioner, that’s for sure! I have to say that I’m very glad that I had my pool, at the very least. My pool had recently been finished, and I have to admit that had something to do with the fact that I didn’t have the finances to muster to deal with the HVAC problem. It would be a while before I would be able to build my savings up again. I had to spend the rest of the month of June without an air conditioner. That ended up being eighteen days! I sure did spend a lot of time in the swimming pool every afternoon that I could possibly manage to do so. The water was nice and cool and refreshing. I ended up getting quite a tan too. I have to say that the evenings were the roughest part. I found out just how much I rely on my air conditioner to get a good night’s rest. It’s not that I didn’t sleep, but my sleeping was rather fitful compared to normal. .

Talking about the midwestern part of the country and climate control

I live in the Midwest and temperatures can be all over the place depending on the time of the year.

There can even be a 100-degree difference between the extreme summer and the extreme winter. However, that is not to say that it cannot be at a mild temperature at any point in the year. The spring and fall can actually be quite mild and pleasant with temperatures ranging from the 50s to the 70s. I guess you can say that we experience the full gamut of temperature fluctuations throughout the year. That is why climate control is so important out here. You may not always need it, but when you do, you really do! We just experienced quite a hot and humid summer. I was so glad to have the benefit of my air conditioner. Just when the spring was starting to warm up, I made sure that a licensed HVAC technician came out and prepared my air conditioning system for the summer time. He cleaned everything out and made sure that all the parts were functioning optimally. I didn’t have any problems with my air conditioner, even when the temperatures reached triple digits and the humidity made the air pregnant with moisture. Now the fall will soon be in full swing. The temperature right now is pleasantly cool. In fact, it’s one of the most pleasant times of the year. However, I know that now is the time to ensure that my furnace is going to be able to function properly for those cold winter months ahead!

My friend had a problem with his window A/C

My friend lives the simple life in a double wide trailer out in the country.

He always cared far more about the piece of land he lives on than he does about the actual house that he occupies on that land.

In fact, he’s perfectly comfortable camping outside anyway! Yes siree, some men can be happy with very little to call their own. My friend exemplifies such a lifestyle. However, he does have his vices, as we all do. He very much likes his air conditioning. As long as he’s not camping, he does at least prefer having reliable climate control. That’s why he was a little distressed when the window air conditioner in his bedroom gave out on him recently. I happened to be over hanging out with him when it happened. We decided to look up online videos to see if we couldn’t take care of the problem ourselves. The first thing the video recommended was giving it a good hose down using a simple detergent. We went ahead and did that. We then watched the checklist of various things that could be wrong with the air conditioner unit one by one and checked to see if there was a problem with such things. It turns out we needed to clear the condensation drain of debris in order to get the window air conditioner working properly again. My friend sure was glad for my help and I’m glad that we fixed the problem because once I get going on an issue I really can’t stop until it’s solved!

Cooking dinner for my mom in a house with no A/C

Last Sunday evening, I was cooking for my mother’s birthday.

I decided on something simple, traditional, and elegant.

I roasted a big chicken, made mashed potatoes from scratch and braised some asparagus in a delicious butter sauce. I also baked dinner rolls from scratch! Needless to say, it was pretty hot in the kitchen with the oven and the stove going. Unfortunately, the heat was compounded by the fact that my air conditioner had given out earlier that morning! I woke up in a sweat and peeled off my covers, my mind racing as to what could have caused the HVAC system to give out the previous evening. I had gone to bed with it nice and cool in my room and the air conditioner blasting with no apparent problems. I wondered if I could call an HVAC company to see if a service technician could be sent out that very Sunday afternoon. I didn’t imagine that very many people would want to be going out on a Sunday on a service call. Worst of all, my mother and some other family members and a friend would be visiting my house for dinner! It’s not like it would be easy to pack up all the food and bring it to someone else’s place. So I had to resign myself to slaving away in the heat of my kitchen. There was no relief from the air conditioner at all. The HVAC service technician would not be able to come until Monday. I called ahead to explain to my guests that it would be quite hot. In the end, at least there was a breeze late that afternoon and I was able to ventilate the house to get it at least somewhat bearable as we enjoyed dinner. Everybody was very gracious and they were simply thankful to get a great home-cooked meal and fellowship with one another.

Staring down an approaching hurricane and worrying about air conditioning

Looks like there’s another hurricane on the way to my state.

This time, it looks like the entire state will get pummeled to varying degrees.

There’s still no word on whether or not our particular area will be hit hard, but we are currently directly in the projected path of the storm. Things can change in the next few days, so fingers crossed. The truth is that not too many people around here are worried about any actual wind damage or flooding. It’s true that that may actually happen especially if you live close to the coast. However, what most people are worried about around here is whether or not the power will go out. The most important thing we enjoy when it comes to power is having our air conditioners. After all, hurricanes barely ever come when it’s cool outside! By nature, they come when it’s hot and humid in our parts. That means that if you lose your power and you don’t have a generator to rely on, you end up hot and stuffy in your home waiting for the workers outside in the storm to get the power back up and running. It’s the one thing I’m certainly afraid of during this hurricane season! You can’t even rely on your fans, which help lull me to sleep with the air circulation. The cool breeze and the drone of the fan puts me to sleep faster than anything, and I wake up the moment that my fan turns off! So hurricane, please move slightly to the left or the right, thank you!

My grandmother lives in a very mild climate

My grandmother lives in a beautiful part of a country across the pond.

The summers in this place are balmy with low humidity.

The winters are cool and mild. It’s only very occasionally that there is somewhat of a heatwave in the summer. In the winter time there might be a light dusting of snow on rare occasions, just a few days out of the year. In short, it is a place where climate control is practically unneeded. I love going to visit my grandmother just as much for the pleasure of her company as for the pleasure of the beautiful weather that I get to enjoy where she lives. She does have climate control in her home but it is the most basic and it is hardly ever used. Your home is beautiful and quaint, but small. There is a gas stove that she uses once in a great while in the winter time. It is located in the kitchen, as you would expect. The home is small enough to where the living room and the kitchen and the dinette are all warmed by the stove. On such cold winter evenings, she will sleep either in her rocking chair or on the couch within proximity of the warmth instead of going upstairs to her bed. In the summer, if it’s a little too warm in the neighborhood she does something different. There’s a window air conditioner in her bedroom that she will use. It easily keeps her entire bedroom nice and cool. Virtually any other time of the year, she simply opens the windows for a nice breeze!

What is a Furnace and How Does it Heat the Air?

Heat pumps are used to transfer heat from one area to another, and they can be used for both heating and cooling purposes.

If you’ve ever wondered how your furnace works to heat your home, you’re not alone. It’s a common question, and understanding the answer can help you to better maintain your furnace and keep your home comfortable all winter long. Basically, furnaces work by circulating heated air through your home. The furnace unit itself contains a heating element that is powered by either natural gas or electricity. When the furnace is turned on, the heating element heats up and starts to circulate the air. The furnace is connected to your HVAC system, which stands for heating, ventilation, and air conditioning. The HVAC system is responsible for circulating both warm and cool air throughout your home, depending on the season. In the summer, the AC unit will remove excess heat from the air, while in the winter, the furnace will add warmth. If you have a heat pump, it will also be connected to your HVAC system. Heat pumps are used to transfer heat from one area to another, and they can be used for both heating and cooling purposes. In the winter, heat pumps transfer heat from the outside air into your home, and in the summer, they do the reverse by removing heat from your home and releasing it outdoors. Smart thermostats are also often connected to HVAC systems and have replaced the old dial thermostats of the past. These devices can be used to control the temperature of your home automatically, based on your preferred settings. That means you’ll never have to worry about coming home to a cold house again!

Having Fun Every Day is a Lifelong Goal of Mine

I don’t ever want to be one of those people who are always busy doing work or home chores every single day. Some people work in the office the whole week and spend their free time on the weekends working on the house. I used to be this way and thought to myself that this is not the lifestyle for me and that there must be another way. I’ve freed up my time to the point that I only work about 15 hours a week and have basically no chores to do around the home. The local business near me had this great robotic roving vacuum cleaner – with a built-in HEPA filter – and it has proven to be a real time saver when it comes to chores around the home. I basically just need to shop and cook dinner each week, other than that I spend the rest of my time doing things that are fun and get me out of the house. I work for the heating and cooling corp a few days a week doing smart thermostat sales and also stocking the shelves with new HVAC equipment. It’s a good life and a lot of my friends back home are quite envious of the free and easy life I have created. I don’t have the comfort of having a family around like they do, as I have moved overseas, but I come back to visit every few months or so. I also do some HVAC equipment service calls in homes in my town and get to meet a lot of cool people.

How To Keep Your Auto’s AC Working Well

We are always talking about the home and office HVAC systems but we don’t mention the systems in cars.

So now we will briefly talk about this so that you know how to keep it running well as it has a lot of similarities to the home’s HVAC system with a couple small exceptions.

As anyone who has ever been in a sweltering car knows, a properly functioning HVAC system is essential for comfortable summer driving. AC systems circulate cool air throughout the vehicle, helping to keep passengers cool and avoid the build-up of condensation on windows. Unfortunately, AC systems can be complex, and they often require specialized service when they break down. To help avoid potential problems, there are a few things that every driver can do to keep their car’s AC system in top condition. First, it’s important to regularly clean the furnace filter. A dirty furnace filter can reduce air flow and cause the AC system to work harder than necessary. Second, it’s a good idea to have the AC system serviced by a qualified mechanic at least once a year. This will help ensure that the system is properly charged and that all components are in good working order. Finally, installing a wifi thermostat can help you save money on cooling costs by allowing you to control the temperature of your vehicle remotely. By following these simple tips, you can help keep your car’s HVAC system running smoothly for years to come and save yourself the hassle of not having AC on those hot summer days.

Keeping the House Clean and Organized Helps Relax Me

There is something about having a clean and quiet home that makes me feel better inside.

  • I don’t like coming home to a cluttered and dirty flat so I try to keep it clean and junk free.

I am always assessing what needs to be tossed out in the flat every few months as things seem to grow in my flat without me noticing them. I have a pretty sparsely decorated flat with not too many knick knacks or things that can clutter up the home. I have a HEPA filtered robot that vacuums the place each day so I don’t like to have too many obstacles for it to navigate around. I also keep the HVAC system clean by regularly taking out the washable HEPA filter and cleaning it every three months. This helps keep the air clean and my body feeling good as I have some allergies to dust and pollen. I have two cats but they are so clean that they aren’t a problem with anything having to do with my allergies. I am going to have an HVAC tech come over and take a look at my HVAC system to make sure it is running well and not in need of anything. The tech is my friend and she really knows what she is doing when it comes to central HVAC systems. She has been working for the company in my town for about 15 years now and has learned so much in the field that a lot of techs call her when they need help with something.
