We are going to try and make our HVAC system last for one more year before replacing it.

This is the last weekend of tourists as it is the final festival of the year, so as of tomorrow things are going to thin out here with people.

It will just be the locals after that and it will go back to normal once again for another winter. I am going to book a flight to the states in two more months and go home to see my family and have some of mom’s homemade Christmas cookies. I just want to sit on the sofa and watch their fireplace while Burl Ives plays in the background. I just like eating the frozen cookie dough instead of the baked cookies because it tastes so yummy. The local contractor back home will have some work for me if I want it, which helps a lot with covering the expenses of my trip. I think the most expensive thing is a rental car but I will probably opt for Uber rides and rides from friends and family. The local business where I rented a car last time charged me over $2500 for a small car for two months, and that didn’t include the $500 I spent on gas. I’m working for the local HVAC company now but don’t want to blow all of my savings on a rental car that I only use a couple times a week. I have a lot of friends and family who will let me borrow their cars when they aren’t using them so it should be fine not renting a car. I will still need air conditioning in the car as winter isn’t that cold back home.

Today is Saturday and the weather is trying to decide what it wants to do.

• The climate is changing from summer to fall and the temps are starting to drop as a result.

It’s a welcome change because summer has been so hot and sticky and I am ready for some crisp cool fall air as I work for the local business selling heating equipment. The only bad part about winter coming is the days will become very short and it will get dark by 5pm each day. The HVAC company rep told me he wants to learn this winter but I don’t know if that will be possible. The issue is that we play volleyball each evening after work and have no lights out on the beach for playing. The HVAC tech told me to just buy some LED lights and put them on the poles of the volleyball system and we should see just fine at night. I guess we can try this option but I’m not sure how much they will cost and if we will be able to mount them on the poles. I am going to ask the local contractor about this because he specializes in lighting and even has some LED lights in his store. I am going to run down there after I finish my writing and see if he can help us out. We have a group of HVAC experts who would like to play each day so maybe we can all pitch in and buy these LED lights. Have a good one.

I don’t like to have to rely on my brother for money but when I am broke it is my last option.

He’s bailed me out numerous times and this time was no different.

I’m sitting on my investment until it takes off and then I am getting out of the whole racket once and for all. I guess we live and learn from all of these blunders and when we look back it doesn’t seem so bad, but right now it is not a nice feeling to be down so much money. It’s a place I put myself when things are getting too heavy in my mind and it helps shelter me from the spinning thoughts of worry and doubt when I am feeling afraid.

It’s funny how fear makes us think things are worse than they really are. Most of the time there is nothing to fear but we create these facades about our life that seem so real. I like to say; everything is fine and that is the truth so stop lying to yourself. My local contractor friend had a lot of things hit him over the past two years and he was really down so I tried to put things in perspective for him. He seems to be doing better now with his local business and is starting to come out of the heavy feelings he’s been feeling. He runs an HVAC company and had to close it down for six months while in his darkest times. I was at his house every day talking to him and helping him see more clearly that his life was okay. I helped run the HVAC business when he opened it again and am an HVAC rep and worker in the office each day. We work together doing smart thermostat sales and also help people program them. We will probably be working together for years and I am glad that he is feeling better now about his life and himself. And also, today we are going to an energy saving tips course in the afternoon.

I live in the Midwest & temperatures can be all over the arena depending on the time of the year.

There can even be a 100-degree difference between the drastic summer time & the drastic winter.

However, that is not to say that it cannot be at a mild temperature at any point in the year. The Spring & fall can easily be quite mild & pleasant with temperatures ranging from the 50s to the 81s. I think you can say that the people I was with and I experience the full gamut of temperature swings throughout the year. That is why weather conditions control is so important out here. You may not consistently need it, but when you do, you actually do! All of us just experienced quite a hot & humid summer. I was so delighted to have the benefit of my air conditioner; Just when the Spring was starting to hot up, I made sure that a licensed Heating, Ventilation, & A/C specialist came out & prepared my air conditioner plan for the summer time time. He cleaned everything out & made sure that all the parts were functioning optimally. I did not have any concerns with my air conditioner, even when the temperatures reached triple digits & the humidity made the air pregnant with moisture; Now the fall will soon be in full swing. The temperature right now is pleasantly cool. In fact, it’s 1 of the most pleasant times of the year. However, I think that now is the time to ensure that my oil furnace is going to be able to function officially for those cold Wintertide weeks ahead!

Last Saturday night, I was cooking for my mother’s birthday. I decided on something easy, traditional, & lovely. I roasted a immense chicken, made mashed potatoes from scratch & braised some asparagus in a delicious butter sauce. I also baked breakfast rolls from scratch! Needless to say, it was pretty hot in the dining room with the oven & the stove going. Unblessedly, the heat was compounded by the fact that my air conditioner had given out earlier that morning! I woke up in a sweat & peeled off my covers, my mind racing as to what could have caused the Heating, Ventilation, & A/C plan to deliver out the previous night. I had gone to bed with it nice & cool in my room & the air conditioner blasting with no apparent concerns. I wondered if I could call an Heating, Ventilation, & A/C corporation to see if a service specialist could be sent out that legitimately Saturday afternoon. I did not imagine that legitimately many people would want to be going out on a Saturday on a service call. Worst of all, my mother & some other family members & a friend would be going to see my apartment for breakfast! It’s not appreciate it would be easy to pack up all the food & bring it to someone else’s arena. So I had to resign myself to slaving away in the heat of my dining room. There was no relief from the air conditioner at all. The Heating, Ventilation, & A/C service specialist would not be able to come until Saturday. I called ahead to explain to my guests that it would be quite hot. In the end, at least there was a breeze late that afternoon & I was able to ventilate the apartment to get it at least somewhat bearable as the people I was with and I enjoyed breakfast. Everybody was legitimately gracious & they were simply thankful to get a great home-cooked meal & fellowship with 1 another.
