It was raining so hard that I could barely see out my car windows.

I ran ten feet from my car to my house, and the rain soaked clear through. I knew I needed to get warm or I would just keep shivering, so I stood over the air vent. My husband saw how wet and cold I was, so he started the fireplace. He gave it a quick shot of heat to try warming me up. He then handed me my heavy robe and told me to undress in front of the fireplace. Once I got warmed by the fireplace, he put my clothing in the washer and told me to get a shower. He had already pulled out the space heater and the bathroom would be warm. He wanted to call the HVAC company to make sure the HVAC technician was on the way.

I was helping my husband outside this week, when I heard the sound of spinning tires. I walked to the other side of the porch and saw the HVAC service van at the end of the neighbor’s yard. I told him the HVAC technician needed a tow truck, the owner of the property would need someone to repair their lawn, and I needed a shower and new clothing. Ten minutes later, I still hadn’t showered or changed, but I was now talking to the owner of the HVAC company. My new shoes were ruined, and I was covered in so much mud that I could feel it in my socks and underwear. My husband was laughing and I could see a smile on the face of the HVAC company owner. He wrote me a check and told me to buy some new shoes and clothes on him. He handed me a check for $1000.

And with the dealership warranty, that means they’ll maintenance most things wrong with the automobile the hour it’s in your name. I am not looking forward to the day when I will have to replace my HVAC unit.

Currently, my unit is 15 years old, and the lifespan of a unit is between 15 and 25 years depending on usage, care, and wear and tear.

Over the years, I have taken good care of my HVAC unit. I have always changed the filter, got regular maintenance, and used my unit conservatively based on the recommendations from the Department of Energy. In fact, my HVAC technician has told me that my unit is still efficient and is in great condition. Of course, over time this will change, but I am hoping that my HVAC unit could last for another 10 years. So far, I have not seen any signs that the unit will break down anytime soon. In fact, there has never been any weird noises coming from the unit, and I have not noticed any changes in my energy bill, nor have I noticed any difference in the comfort of my home. And I am grateful that my HVAC unit is still in great condition because the cost of replacing a unit is never something a homeowner looks forward to covering. The prices of these systems can range between $5,000 and $10,000 depending on the size of the unit being replaced. My unit is the typical HVAC used in a medium size home, so I don’t expect to pay upwards of $10,000. But even if the unit is on the lower end, I would rather not spend that money right now. So, I will continue to service my unit as often as possible so that I can extend the life of it for the full term of 25 years.

It has been about 3 months since I changed my air filter, so I recently purchased a new filter to replace the old one that was filthy. Typically, most HVAC providers recommend replacing the air filter every 90 days. And if you’re a smoker or if you have pets, the recommendation is between 30 to 60 days. I have always kept up with replacing my HVAC air filter as it is a sure way to guarantee that the air quality in my home is ideal. And each time I change the filter, I always make sure that I install it the right way. However, for some odd reason, when I went to replace the filter, I realized that I had it pointing in the wrong direction. If you don’t know anything about HVAC air filters, most if not all of them, have arrows showing you which direction to place the filter inside the HVAC unit. The arrows should always point towards the unit, but for some odd reason, the arrows on this filter were pointing the opposite way, which means that the filter was installed incorrectly. The only thing that I could think of is that, about a month ago, I removed the filter to take a picture of it, so that I could order the same one online. And I believe that in my rush to return to what I was doing, I didn’t check to see what direction I was installing the filter. So, for about a month, my air filter was installed backwards. This means that the air wasn’t flowing as it should nor was it getting filtered properly. To avoid this mistake, be sure to check the arrows on the HVAC air filter and never install it backwards.

The other afternoon, the delivery driver for the HVAC business was legitimately late when he showed up to our house… My spouse was supposed to be there when he came so that he could help transport the current furnace into the garage plus unload it… Well, the delivery driver took so long to get to the cabin that my spouse was already gone for the afternoon! I was not legitimately sure what to tell the delivery driver because there was no way that I could help him unload the furnace, then i had back surgery not long ago plus I am not supposed to lift anything over 10 pounds right now, however the delivery driver for the HVAC business was certainly apologetic about the fact that he was late, however he said that he could not help it, but he said that the tire blew out on the HVAC delivery truck plus there was no way for him to get there in time.

I felt pretty sorry for him, but I did not guess what to do because the people I was with and I legitimately needed to get the furnace, but the people I was with and I could not get it out of the truck; Unluckyly, he did not have his helper that he usually has right along with him, either.

I started to wonder what the people I was with and I were going to do plus I thought the people I was with and I were going to have to reschedule, then but then, 1 of our neighbors from down the street came running by. He was out for his day jog plus he waved at me. This guy is strong plus he works out all the time. I yelled to him to see if he might want to help with moving the furnace. He was happy to help! He even said that he could forgo lifting weights that afternoon because he could count lifting the furnace instead.

It’s not all that tough to get the most out of your heat pump while in the summer, however i should guess because I live in a region where there is appreciate 8 months of air conditioner. I walk through the door plus then hit instantaneously with crisp cooling air; But I don’t pay exorbitant prices for the pleasure. I simply follow some basic tips in order to reduce cooling costs. It starts with Heating plus A/C repair because the heat pump needs to be ready for the Summer load; And the air conditioner tune up ensures the heat pump is running at top efficiency; From there, it’s seal the home tight plus pull the blinds to mitigate direct sunshine heating. I also follow the 15 degree rule when it comes to programming the digital control unit. I never have the control equipment set any more than 15 degrees cooler than the peak heating minutes of the day. It’s just that easy to save bit on air conditioner costs.
