My girlfriend’s mom is making us do a lot of chores for her, yet she still wants us to make progress with finding a campervan, which also takes up a lot of time

Buying a campervan is proving to be a complicated task for me and my girlfriend. My girlfriend and I are currently living with my girlfriend’s mother, and we had a very serious chat with her last week. She told us we’d been living in her apartment for six months and that it was time for us to move out. We felt offended by this, even though we knew it made sense. The idea was to stay in her apartment until we bought a campervan to live in. The problem is that we can’t find the right campervan. We´ve seen many, but none of them have functioning heating and cooling systems. Also, they are too expensive or have too much mileage on them. Mileage shouldn’t be a problem, though, if the vehicle has been well looked after. My HVAC tech buddy is 55 years old, plays volleyball, and has a lot of mileage in him, but he still runs as smooth as a 20-year old because he has a healthy lifestyle. I now have to go call the HVAC provider and ask them to get a technician in to sort out the air conditioner. Having a quality cooling unit in the van is essential for us because we’ll be traveling during the summer and we don’t want to feel uncomfortable in the van. I guess we’ll just have to keep looking, but first I have to look at HEPA filters for my girlfriend’s mom.

Today I’m not sure whether to stay in the city or go to the beach. I have an appointment with my doctor this afternoon, but it’s not urgent, and I don’t even know if it’s necessary for me to go because my stomach problems are better now, so I don’t know what to do because I would really like to go to the beach on this beautiful day. I don’t like being in the city for too long; I feel it wears on my soul and brings me down emotionally. But today it’s tricky because I have the HVAC tech coming in later. I could cancel these appointments, though. The problem is that my girlfriend is going to be mad at me if I escape without first sorting out the air conditioner. I still have some work to do, so I’ll see after that. The cleaning lady is in the house, and she doesn’t like me being around when she’s trying to clean; this makes me feel unwelcome in my own house. Thanks to my new programmable thermostat, however, I am able to control the temperature in the house without having to leave the office, so that way, I don’t disturb her. This has been one of the best buys ever. I was very lucky because the heating and cooling provider I got it from had it on sale in the store. It was a bargain! My tummy is now telling me that it’s time to shove some food down my throat before the HVAC repairman comes, but I must find a way to go to the kitchen without disturbing the cleaning lady…

This morning I decided to put on Acker Bilk for some reason, and while I was having my coffee and listening to “Stranger in the Shore”, I was taken away to paradise in my mind. I envisioned myself sipping pina coladas under a palm tree and strolling along a beach with crystal-clear water and white sand. Then I snapped out of it and realized that I was in my flat instead of in paradise, and I had to get on with some work. Monday mornings are usually slow, and I caught myself procrastinating by not doing what I should be doing. Acker Bilk was relaxing me too much, so I put on some jazz music designed to make you focus and I was soon back on track doing my work for the HVAC business. There’s not much work to do at the company now, I guess because we’ve been having moderate weather—not too hot, not too cold, and many people aren’t requiring their heating and cooling equipment. We had some heavy rainfall in the area where I live, which is great because it’s not rained in a long time and we were suffering from drought. It’s also great that I’m saving money on energy bills by not having to use my air conditioning unit, because it has been quite hot lately and I had it running too often. Yesterday, the rain prevented my bandmate and I from playing music on the street, but we went to a restaurant with a cool fireplace and had a nice time anyway. We had burgers and chips; it was so delicious that we forgot all about the rain and not being able to play!

It’s easy to get weighed down in the morning to morning drudgery of work when you do the same task for countless weeks, months, and years, but if you step back and look at all of the benefits you get from the job then maybe you’ll be grateful for having an income at all. I watched a documentary last night on homeless drug addicts in Canada and the life they lead is scary to say the least. Many of them died from overdoses trying to escape the hell that their reality has become, so next time you are at your local business doing your work remember how much better you have it in your air conditioned office than these terrible people on the brutal streets of the city. In the winter it must get so biting cold outside and honestly the only way to escape it is to get all drugged up and numb the senses, when all we have to do is touch a button on our heating and A/C system or let our smart temperature control do the work. I get a bit bored and impatient with writing articles like this all of the time, but if I step back and look at the giant picture it puts things into perspective for me so that I can work in a more calm manner. I only work two hours a morning writing about space heaters and cooling system units, so that sounds pretty enjoyable to me and I am going to be more appreciative of the work life I have carved out for myself.

I have a slight headache this morning and just took an aspirin to see if it will help with it.

I should go to the store to buy some cheese so I can make my grilled cheese sandwich, but maybe I should skip the meal and go for a salad instead.

I’ve been eating grilled cheese almost every morning for months now and honestly should cut back a bit on the cheese. I also have to return this Amazon package this week for something I ordered but won’t need. I believe there is a local business near me where all I have to do is take the cooling system filter I ordered and drop it off at the site. It is like a five minute bike ride away and is located near the nurse office that I need to stop by to make an appointment with. I have had some tooth pain ever since dropping an heating and A/C part on it a few months ago and I believe it is time to get it looked at. I’m just waiting for some money to come in from my stepdad so I can spend money for the tooth repair, maybe it will be covered by my insurance and I won’t have to touch that money. I was working on some HVAC duct repairs and dropped a heating and A/C tool and it hit me in the mouth, honestly cracking something on the tooth that took most of the impact. I’m sure the nurse can repair it quite fast and all I need to do is make an appointment and get it done.

I’m having a slow morning today, almost feeling like I partied last night when I didn’t.

I believe this is my body telling me to slow down a bit and rest it so that it doesn’t fall apart on me.

My dad always told me that I gotta learn to relax, and now that he is gone I am starting to listen to what he told me! Why couldn’t I have listened to him more when he was alive though? I guess I still can heed his advice and slow down some so that I can live longer, but furnace repairs is what pops did for numerous years and he left us with lots of good memories and lots of lessons on how to keep your heating and A/C system running well. He has been gone for three years now but his words still echo loudly in my mind and my love for him hasn’t changed even after he died. I will work on some heating and cooling unit today at work and believe in pops and all that he taught me about the field as I work for the heating and A/C business in a village here in Europe. I decided to move here eight years ago and in one more year my residency will expire and I will have to find a way to renew it for another five years so I can keep staying here and living my life. I work in the heating and A/C field as a heating tech and like residing over here, so hopefully I can renew that residency and keep living the dream on the coast.

I am trying to decide if I want to do legs today on the beach or if I should wait one more morning and let my knees rest.

I played some ball last weekend and my knees are still kind of sore from it, so maybe I need to rest them another morning before I subject them to the torture I am about to inflict on my getaway sticks.

I have no cartilage in the knees, they say, so I have to be a bit more careful so I do not make them worse or I will be getting new knees, but heating unit repairs takes its toll on the knees, as does radiant heated floor replacements, so I need to be enjoyable to my knees so they can help me keep earning money. I don’t know what knee replacement goes for but I’m sure it is not cheap, so I believe I will try knee injections first to see how well they work for someone like me. My local business buddy had the injections and told me it helped a lot with her knees after messing them up from too numerous years of HVAC duct cleaning for the bossman. I need to check on the cost of the injections to see if it is something I can afford right now or if I will have to wait for them. Anyway, today I will clean my gas fireplace and try to do some therapy on my knees at the local business down the street. I also have some cold cream pain gel that I will put on them to ease the pain.

I am chilling out today waiting for the temps to drop a bit before I head down to the beach.

My buddy will visit tomorrow and we will have a little chill time here with the cats and make some dinner.

I am thinking about renaming my cats to some kind of beach theme names because my life is all about the beach. Maybe one will be named Shark and the other Dolphin, or maybe one can be Sea and the other can be Wave. I’m sure there are more fitting names than that but I am just thinking. Space furnace and air cleaner could be other names for them, but that sounds kind of absurd don’t you think? What about Sandy and Salty? Now I am just getting plain goofy! I could go for HEPA and heating and A/C for some actually odd names, why not, they are cats and they actually don’t care what you name them. Ask Frank Zappa, well he is dead so you can’t ask him, but look at what she named his kids, totally ridiculous. Maybe Fireplace and Furnace would be enjoyable names for my cats because that is what they feel like when they lie on your chest and stomach for hours at a time. Sometimes they plop down on my flatmate’s chest and lap when she is sleeping in her room and stay there for the whole night. I need a cold cooling system and no cats when I sleep though because I am a hot sleeper and need the cooling system set to an actually low temp at night to sleep well.

I have seven and a half months till I go back home for a visit and will need that time to save up some money for the trip. It is not cheap going from Europe to the USA for a month when you have no home and no automobile there. It used to be easier when my dad was alive and I had a car stored at his place, but he decided to pass on and now it is not so easy going back home to visit. It would be a lot easier if I hadn’t lost the giant pile of heating and A/C repair money she gave me, I still can’t believe that I actually did lose it, it is a fact and now it is a lot more strenuous to go back to visit my family without that heating and cooling business cash. Ugh! I have made some dumb decisions in my life with money but this one takes the cake. I still have the shares in this heating and A/C corp stock but it has sunk so low I don’t know if it will ever find its way back to where it was when I bought it. That is double the loss of my cooling corporation money but it still doesn’t make me feel any better about my untimely decision to invest. My dad told me to put it in the bank and I should have listened to him, darn it. Breathe in, breathe out.

I have a bit over four hours left before heading down the street for my yoga student.

She pays me $20 for a 30 minute yoga session three times a week, which in this village basically pays for my food for the week from the grocery store.

Then I just have about $750 a month in bills when you look at all of my other residing expenses. Our band pulls in about $400 a month playing in the streets, so that knocks my remaining bills down to $350 a month, which is actually easy to acquire with working online. heating and A/C system repairs is what I do at the cooling business store and I am able to work part time and still save about $760 a month. I like to have a buffer in the bank of $10K that is honestly accessible in case of emergencies, and I am about halfway there right now after destroying that buffer with dumb investments. I invested in a heating corp that was doing actually well last year, or so I thought, and I ended up killing all my savings that I stashed away for over 15 years. I still have the shares and maybe there will be a miracle and it will go back up to what it was before the crash. I just want to buy a new heating and cooling unit one day but I will have to wait for this heating and A/C business to get their act together again and start making some money with the corporation. Money comes and money goes doesn’t it?
