I have struggles with pollen

I’ve lived in the same space our entire life.

I was born up North, but my parents moved to the South honestly shortly after that! My body is pretty accustomed to the hot climates, but it still struggles with the pollen.

My pollen irritations feel like they have gotten worse every single year. My parents have always been really superb about swapping out the air filters in the HVAC system, upgrading the media air cleaner, and even keeping an air filter in our home office for extra protection while I’m sleeping. My pollen irritations feel the worst when I am waking up in the morning, so I know the small UV air purifier really helps with that, but I recently discovered that for the furnace, radiant floor heating could honestly be a better option than the central heater. Central heating systems blow heated air through the air ducts plus out of the air vents! Since the oil heating systems aren’t used that much throughout the year, they can tend to build up a lot of gunk and that blows out with the hot air, and radiant heated flooring eliminates the need for air vents because it simply radiates heat into the room it is in, then this would be superb for our pollen irritations since I wouldn’t be breathing in any pollutants or built-up gunk. I’m not sure if swapping out the system in their house would be doable at this point, but it’s something that I would love to keep in mind for the future. I would like to buy a beach lake house sometime in the next few years.

A good heating method for the south

I’ve lived in the same area our entire life.

I was born up North, but my parents moved to the South very shortly after that.

My body is pretty accustomed to the sizzling temperatures, but it still struggles with the pollen. My flu symptoms feel like they have gotten worse every single year. My parents have constantly been honestly good about swapping out the air filters in the heating and A/C system, upgrading our whole-house air purifier, and even keeping an air filter in my bedroom for extra protection while I’m sleeping. My flu symptoms are the worst when I am waking up in the morning, so I guess the small air purification system honestly helps with that. I recently discovered that for the furnace, radiant floor heating could honestly be a better option than the central heater. Central oil gas furnaces blow heated air through the HVAC ducts plus out of the air vents… Since the oil gas furnaces aren’t used that much throughout the year, they can tend to build up a lot of gunk and that blows out with the sizzling air, and radiant heated flooring eliminates the need for air vents because it simply radiates heat into the room it is in. This would be enjoyable for our flu symptoms since I wouldn’t be breathing in any pollutants or built-up gunk. I’m not sure if swapping out the plan in their house would be doable at this point, however it’s honestly something that I would love to keep in mind for the future. I would love to buy a home sometime in the next few years.

Radiant floor heating is actually a good option for Southern homes

I’ve lived in the same area my entire life.

I was born up North, but my parents moved to the South very shortly after that.

My body is pretty accustomed to the warm climates, but it still struggles with the pollen. My allergies feel like they have gotten worse every single year. My parents have always been really good about swapping out the air filters in the HVAC system, upgrading our air purification system, and even keeping an air filter in my bedroom for extra protection while I’m sleeping. My allergies feel the worst when I am waking up in the morning, so I think the small air purifier really helps with that. However, I recently discovered that for the heating system, radiant floor heating could actually be a better option than the central heater. Central heaters blow heated air through the air ducts and out of the air vents. Since the heaters aren’t used that much throughout the year, they can tend to build up a lot of gunk and that blows out with the warm air. Radiant heated flooring eliminates the need for air vents because it simply radiates heat into the room it is in. This would be great for my allergies since I wouldn’t be breathing in any pollutants or built-up gunk. I’m not sure if swapping out the system in their house would be doable at this point, but it’s definitely something that I would like to keep in mind for the future. I would love to buy a home sometime in the next few years.

I wanted to teach my kids the fireplace isn’t something to touch

My family and I head up to the mountains every winter season for a holiday, and we’ve been doing it ever since I was a small child. As an adult with my own kids now, it is still my favorite family tradition that I look forward to every year. One of my favorite memories as a kid was having a great snow day because I knew that would mean marshmallows and hot chocolate in front of the fireplace that night, I wasn’t a large fan of the fire pit outside since it was so cold, but being in front of the fireplace cuddled with my mom and looking at snowfall outside always felt like magic. Now that I have my own kids with me, I often worry about the safety precautions for the fireplace at our cabin. Fireplaces are often open and I have a feeling that my toddler is going to be mesmerized and want to run straight towards the fire. My mom thinks I am being dramatic because I never did that when I was their age, but I’ve read blogs with horror stories about fireplaces in addition to small children. I’ve been showing my kids pictures of fireplaces in addition to creating positive but safe associations with them so they understand that while the fireplace is great to look at and experience, it is not something we go near and touch. I feel overprotective of my children occasionally and I’m entirely trying to let that go, but it’s hard when the world is becoming so wild and unpredictable every year. All I want to do is shelter them.

There are many safety precautions one should take with a fireplace

My family and I head up to the mountains every winter for a vacation.

To have an air purifier versus to not have one

My sister just had a current baby and we are so happy about the addition to our family.

She is the cutest little baby I have ever seen, although I may be just a little biased! My sister and her hubby are really happy to bring her home and seem to have everything they need set up! I was wondering if the air quality mattered at home since the baby is born into such a sterile environment at the hospital.

I wonder how much that air purification method there impacts the immunity of babies when they first enter the world. Some people debate that babies shouldn’t necessarily live in environments where the air quality is too perfect because they need to be exposed to toxins in order to build up strong immunity. Some people argue that they need to have air quality because their immune systems are so fragile and can’t withstand toxins or pollutants in the air. I’m reminded that people have given birth out in the wild for generations and they grew into strong and healthy human beings, so having an air purification method isn’t necessarily going to make or break the baby. It’s okay to have an air purification system in the house, although I don’t think anyone should go deranged trying to keep everything extra clean for the baby, then they need that exposure to get stronger. You also can’t shield your baby from everything in life, so this may be a great small step to releasing control over their experience and allowing their bodies to do what they’re meant to do.
