I have no problem with the job itself, but some of the stains I need to remove are difficult.

I get the fifth cleaning for free. Because of the floor stripping and waxing, the hardwood floors are just beautiful again.

For work I alternate between two locations.

Typically I am in the north for six months out of the year and then I go down south for the rest of the year.

It is necessary to keep both branches going. Sometimes during a holiday or a busy time of the year, I have to make a quick trip to another location. It would be expensive keeping two houses afloat and maintaining them. I also don’t want to pay rent in two locations unless I need to. Thanking my business provides corporate housing. I can get a six month block of short term, fully furnished housing no problem. Then when I go down south, I find another corporate apartment to rent out. I always find a location that is fully furnished and right near my place of work. I really don’t need much. I don’t bother asking for a corporate suite in a hotel or an actual house. A fully furnished apartment should do the trick. I really need a working bathroom, decently sized kitchen and a bed. If I need to watch TV, I will pop open my laptop. I don’t even need a backyard. I can go for a run in town or do yoga right in my bedroom. I am a simple creature to please. My workplace always has a nice location for me though. I usually end up with more luxuries and space than I require. Better to have too much than too little though right? Corporate housing has been nothing but great for me.

I could tell my friend was long overdue for a new heater the first time I stepped foot in their house.

It was sort of like stepping into a refrigerator is how I would describe it.

When I asked where the heck her furnace is, she told me that her furnace stopped working years ago. Years ago, in a climate where it is not uncommon for it to drop below freezing. I’m honestly wondering how the heck she hasn’t froze to death yet. I love my furnace and I can’t imagine not having one. So of course my next best step was to convince her to get a new heating unit. She seemed hesitant, and I could make a pretty good guess as to why. My friend has always been the penny pincher type, the type who always has a bunch of coupons or other savings, and only buys things if they’re on sale. So to get an entire new heating unit was going to be incredibly expensive, and considering she thinks $20 as being expensive, I can’t imagine what she must think of the cost of a new heater. I kept telling her that she really needs a new heating device, that she could literally freeze in this kind of weather if we even get a blizzard or something else like that, but I could tell that was not getting her attention. I then looked around a bit myself, and found a HVAC company that happened to be having a sale on furnaces and furnace installation, and hope that maybe she gets the hint and gets a new one already.

Man, I can’t wait for this awful weather to be over, and it’s not even so much bad weather as unpredictable weather. Every single day, it’s something different, and since I am usually at work, if the weather changes dramatically, I’m not there at my house to do anything, a great example was last night, which was absolutely cold, so I turned my gas furnace on and left in the day for work, when the weather was still pretty cold, unfortunately, by the time it was day, it was close to 100 degrees. So imagine coming back to my home when it’s had the heating unit all day, and I had it set to 77 degrees, however yep my house was practically a furnace inside, and it took forever for it to cool back down. I’ve the same thing, except it would be cold as well. I would have my cooling unit on, leave for work and it would get absolutely freezing while I am at work, so then I would come back home to a freezing house. I have been reading up on ways to fix this problem, and I think I might have found a solution. A smart thermostat allows you to control your gas furnace and a/c from your phone, even when you’re not home. So it would be incredibly simple to be at work, realize it is getting hot, and turn my furnace off and our air conditioning on. I think I am going to do that and get a new thermostat, but the best part is that the smart thermostat isn’t even that expensive.
