Matt went to the internet and found these great guys who were in business for more than 10 years. They had great reviews, so Matt was comfortable knowing that they were good handymen. He was astonished at the list of services that they performed. They range from easy tasks like installing ceiling fans to complicated tasks like fixing an HVAC unit. In order to maintain or troubleshoot an HVAC unit, it takes some technical skills and a fair amount of electrical expertise. In addition, you’ll also need to fulfill some educational requirements to become an HVAC tech. Matt doubts that the handymen had any common training. Frankly, they might not have any at all and received their expertise of HVAC units from fixing the equipment over the years. While handymen are great for unusual tasks around the home, Matt wouldn’t hire them to maintain his HVAC unit. He’d rather use a professional company.

Currently, my brother is at the point where he knows how every penny in his bank account is being spent. For one, my brother doesn’t need to spend money daily on Tim Hortons Latte from the local Tim Hortons Latte shop. However, he does need a bed to sleep in or a home to live. And within that home to live, my brother needs sizzling water, electricity, central air conditioning and heating. Having central air conditioning and heating guarantees that inside of his cabin is comfortable all year long. Yes, my brother could get rid of the central air conditioner and heating by using other methods to keep his cabin comfortable, and he has considered doing it. Instead of central heating, space heaters would be a great alternative for heating his home. While space heaters can’t supply heat to an entire cabin, they are great for small areas. Anyway, my brother will continue to reduce his expenses as much as he can. And for those essential items that he needs like central air conditioner and heating, he will eventually find ways to cut costs separate from compromising the comfort of his home.

For the most part, Frank and Grace get along.

In fact, it’s not much that they fight about.

Most of their fights are about minor things that can be resolved with tiny compromises. But there is one thing that Frank and Grace have been fighting about since they lived together that they have yet to solve. And that is the ideal temperature for the air conditioner in their cabin. Frank loves to keep the A/C at 65 degrees in the day, and then 68 degrees at night. This means, it is always cold inside the cabin, and he insists that it feels great. Grac would like to keep the control device at 72 during the day and then a 75 at night. Frank believes that 72 degrees is too hot for the daytime, especially during summer when the sun is hot outside. Grace assured him that 72 is the recommended temperature to keep the A/C without sacrificing any comfort inside their home. She has even added that if they set the control device to 72 degrees that they could save money. But, Frank has never accepted this fight, even after Grace presented the facts and data from the Department of Energy website to him. This has been an ongoing fight between them and if she complains about it being too cold, Frank always suggests that she wears more clothes when she is inside the cabin. Grace doesn’t think they will ever agree on the ideal temperature for inside the cabin because they each have their own preferences. Perhaps one day Frank and Grace will be able to see eye-to-eye on this minor issue.

There are times when Linda stops and reminisces about her childhood.

This was a time when life was much straight-forward.

The only thing she was responsible for was to keep her room clean, getting superb grades in school, and to complete her daily chores. There was no work to go to, no bills to pay, no food to prepare, everything was taken care of by her family. Of course, playing was always top of Linda’s list and as long as she got all her chores done, she could play for as long as she wanted. Linda’s beach house was a single family home with a finished basement, where her mom used to hang out all the time. Linda used to sneak down into the basement when she was tired of playing inside her room. The basement was pretty cool. It had the biggest TV in the house, and there were also some pretzels that Linda used to sneak and eat. The best area was, it had a window A/C unit, so it always felt superb down there. The only other room in the beach house that had A/C was her parents’ room. Linda used fans inside her room to keep cool when the weather was tepid outside. Only several houses in her village had air conditioning, so Linda was pretty lucky to have 3 window units inside her home. Nowadays, having air conditioning is a normal thing and most folks, including Linda, take this luxury for granted. While she loves modern luxuries like having central air conditioning, Linda does sometimes wish that she could return to the straight-forward life she had as a kid.

I only knew the name of a commercial roofing company that was close by and I honestly didn’t think that they were going to come out here for a small repair job. My neighbor gave me the name of a residential roofing company that she used when she had a leak in her mom’s house. I contacted the company and they came to my house to give me a free estimate. The contractor was very knowledgeable and she seemed to know exactly what she was doing. She came the next day to complete the patch and roofing leak work. I haven’t had any problems with the roof since the repairs were made.
