Ever since I was just a little one, I knew I wished to go into a company with my dad.

He had managed to build a bunch of successful companies, some of which he sold for massive sums of currency! One cool thing about him is he consistently took me to most meetings when I was not in school.

He said it did not even matter that I was a female! I was going to be successful in the future! After school, dad made me an offer that was wonderful. I’d go to university & get a company degree & some real-world experience. He easily suggested that I task minimum wage work positions in fast-food diners since he knew my first plan was to open a Latte shop. Once I got my degree, both of us opened a Latte shop together as 50-50 partners. The Latte shop was amazing & catered to a growing company community in our local community. I was in charge of numerous things, including picking a particular theme for the place. Other than that, both of us decided on a few things, including the window tints we wished to have. We were living on the coast, & there were so many moments when the sun was unforgiving. The window tints would work to control the UV rays & also maintain customer privacy. While some window films were perfect for the shop, dad taught me to regularly take advantage of opportunities. We got a space in a tied up space & had the opportunity to set up some amazing decorative window tints which would serve as advertisements. We found a good window tint installation company which printed some decorative window films with images of Latte & other related items. The results were astonishing, & all the people who came in gave compliments on the attractive decorative films we had installed.

We decided to get a space in a busy section plus had the golden opportunity to set up decorative window films which would serve as awesome advertisements. I asked her if she would look at my online ads and tell me what she thought. An hour later, she brought her laptop out to the kitchen and had me sit with her. She told me my ads were ineffectual and why. The first thing she told me I had to change was incorporating the name of the company, a website address, and a phone number, so people could contact me. She thought it would be best if there was a website that not only offered information about the company, but had a FAQs page, plus a page where people could sign up for information, or possibly to sign up as a customer. Then we had to attach a link to my ads that would take them directly to the sign up page. She wanted to attach the sign up to a list that would be sent to me, and the people would get an automatic thank you for signing up, plus a question about how they found the website. She said this change in web design would allow me to see how many people used ads, and how many just came across us on a search. I never realized how smart my daughter was. By the time midnight came around, she had totally changed around my website so my ads were no longer ineffectual. I gave her to go ahead to finish the ads portion of my ad digital ad campaign, with a promise to pay her.

When I screwed up so badly on my personal online marketing campaign, I wanted to go to the best. I typed several different keywords into the search box, and I kept coming up with digital marketing. I wanted to know what digital marketing is? The only part of digital marketing that pinpointed, was Social Media Marketing. I wanted to figure out what I was doing wrong. The first thing I knew I had done wrong was not including a telephone number, the name of the company or a website address. I thought I was maintaining my privacy and keeping a bunch of jerks from filling up my mailbox. I realized I should have been focusing on more than Facebook and Twitter. I didn’t think about LInked In, SnapChat, PInterest, or Instagram. To be honest, I didn’t even have accounts on most of them. I never thought anyone on SnapChat, Instagram, or Pinterest would be interested in HVAC. I learned that everyone was interested in HVAC because it involves their personal comfort. I also liked that digital marketing involved affiliate programs. I knew I should hire someone who could do the digital marketing for me. With all the information about SEO, affiliate programs, and social media marketing, I was lost. If I were to hire a digital marketing company, I would probably recoup the cost in less than a year, and then it would all be gravy. I got in touch with someone online and he offered to call me back. The conversation about digital marketing soon turned to my HVAC company. He started looking at my website and suggesting changes. He told me he would try to get some ideas for me within forty-eight hours. I am so excited.

Last month, I put all kinds of shouts onto facebook, twitter, and even one of those photo places.

I did a video for YouTube and my daughter put me on a couple other websites I had never heard of.

Unfortunately, I didn’t get a single email from anyone. I was upset, but I knew I just needed to keep putting out my information. I went back to facebook, and I started putting full paragraphs that told about my business and where I was located. Still I didn’t get any hits on my website or on my email. I couldn’t figure out what I was doing wrong. I thought I was doing online marketing, and I was sure I was doing well. I thought maybe I should be putting the ads up more often. I was now creating a new tweet every couple of hours. I was also putting out different ads on facebook. I asked my daughter to help me repeat my ads every so often on her types of websites. I was whining about not getting any business for my HVAC company. I asked my friend if they had seen my ads. She was being honest when she asked what ads. I told her I was doing online marketing through facebook and twitter, but I hadn’t had any responses. She told me that was tough since most ads needed to be paid for and they could be expensive. I had no idea what she was talking about, so I asked. When she was finished explaining about how to take out facebook ads and how to put true ads on twitter and other sites, I felt stupid. All the time I spent doing my own online marketing was not even online marketing.

Last week, I woke up to realize that our power had gone off.

I certainly knew the two of us had a storm through the evening, however it wasn’t poor enough when I checked the forecast that I should worry the two of us wouldn’t have any power this afternoon. Normally, this rapid loss of power wouldn’t bother me, however I had fifteen kiddos in my basement, getting ready to wake up for supper. I had a total electric home with nothing except some cold cereal for supper, since nothing worked. My child was the first to trudge all the way up the steps & ask what was for supper. When I told her cereal, she seemed to deflate instantly. She said she thought the two of us could go out for supper. I tried to explain that the entire pace was out of power & none of the eating establishments were open. When she grumbled & walked down again, I went online & looked for any eating establishment that would deliver. I found one nearby fast-food eating establishment that still had power. I called & asked if they had sandwich delivery available. It didn’t take long for their food delivery maintenance to show up at my family’s door. I had ordered several of each supper sandwich they had on the menu. I finally figured I could always freeze what they didn’t eat. The food delivery maintenance driver looked at me intensely when he handed over ten bags filled with forty sandwiches & another basket with fifty hash browns. He also dropped off twenty containers of chocolate milk. Thanks to the sandwich delivery service, I was a super mom again. I took a serious situation & even turned it into the best sleepover in history.

I never thought I would worry so much about needing meal delivery services.

When I fell down my stair steps & broke my leg, I had no way of getting down into the room. There are always staff members available to assist and answer questions. If they notice someone using a weight lifting machine or dumbbells incorrectly, they will step in and offer guidance. When I sign up for the group fitness classes, I can trust that the instructor is proficient in the type of exercise offered. Whether the class is pilates, spin, yoga or circuit training, I expect a rewarding experience and don’t worry about getting hurt. Because of these experts, I’ve learned quite a bit and been able to elevate my fitness level. I’ve gained strength, stamina and flexibility while toning muscles and trimming fat. The help of the staff at the gym has been invaluable to me. They are also very encouraging and supportive.

Because my parents are at an advanced age and struggling a bit, I have no option but to help out.

I enjoyed having a lot of friends and opportunities for activities in the city. I am lucky that I can easily stay in touch with people through the internet or texting. I am fortunate that my primary source of income comes from a job where I work remotely. I didn’t need to worry about quitting or taking a leave of absence when I moved to help my parents. While I was getting accustomed to my new surroundings, I saw that there weren’t many opportunities for jobs in services such as HVAC, auto mechanics, electricians, banks, and doctor’s offices. It seems that there is one of each type of business in the area, with no other competition. This is also the situation for fitness centers. I have access to only one, privately owned gym in the nearby vicinity. I have spoken to many of the locals and they are frustrated with the membership fees and insufficient amenities. Because of this, I applied for a business loan with the intention of starting up a new local gym. I wanted to offer better machines, classes and services. Networking via the internet and social media groups got my name out there. I managed to stir up quite a bit of interest for my grand opening. By the fourth month of running the fitness center, I was seeing steady foot traffic through the doors on a daily basis. There’s also been positive reviews on social media. I am now happy that I moved and thrilled with the progress of my new business venture.

I began working here after my wife and I relocated to this area for her job.

While I still have made any friends here, I am happy with my new surroundings. Being in the mountains is something different. Taking the dog on a walk during the day no longer seems like a chore when the scenery is so beautiful. I just wish that my job lived up to the enjoyment of my environment. Some day, it can get really challenging. My shifts are filled with constant calls. It can get fairly hectic, especially when we answer medical related issues. Sometimes people call when they are faced with an emergency and we need to direct them to dial 911 right away. If they’re in a panic, they tend to reach out to their doctor’s office first because they don’t know what else to do. They need someone to tell them it’s OK to call 911. As a way to offset stress, our managers have implemented a corporate wellness program. This involved several steps. First, the company built an onsite fitness center for workers to use before and after shifts, or even during lunch breaks. We’re now allowed to take several additional breaks during the day and we’re encouraged to get up and walk around inside or outside of the building. This is done in shifts. We have time to complete a walking tour before another employee takes our place. I’m not sure how I got along before the new corporate wellness program. It has provided such a huge improvement to the workday. Everyone is in a better mood and more productive. There is less absenteeism and complaining about health related problems.
